KheerGanga- A Short Timeout To Himachal
Kheerganga is located near Kasol. We decided that we want to travel to Kheerganga. the day we decided was amazing too. it was on 31st December 2018. The beginning of a new year was going to be amazing. 
Kheerganga is located in Himachal Pradesh near Kasol. we took an overnight bus from Delhi to Bhuntar.
you catch Volvo from Delhi from Majnu ka Tila, or from Rama Krishna Ashram Metro station or from Himsuta bus from ISBT bus station. one can self-drive too.
After reaching Bhuntar We took a taxi from Bhntar to Kasol which took around 1000 rs.
after reaching Kasol we walked to Challal which was a small village near Kasol. we roam around with our luggage and found ourselves in one room for 3 days. then for kheerganga you have to take a cab to barsaini and from barsaini it is a one day trek till Kheerganga.
we did one small trek from Chalal to Rasol too. it was just a few hour's journey from Chalal to another village of Rasol. That was a beautiful walk too. it helps with our acclimatization. Here are some of the pictures of Rasol.
The next day we planned to go to Kheerganga Trek. The starting point was from Barsaini. we hire a cab from Kasol to Barsaini. Kheerganga is about 18 km Trek. It was December so the whole way was covered with snow. we were going to climb on this day, stay there night over the kheerganga and descend next day. the whole way was covered with little guide marking so that even if you are alone you'll know the route. on the summit of Kheerganga small homestay is available so you can easily stay there. dinner was provided too and blankets and beds were given by the owner. it was kind of a dormitory. there were many groups staying together.
It was so minus degrees outside and even with two blankets each and the fire was burning all night besides us, still, we were freezing to death. The evening was amazing though.. one group had a guitar with them and they played and sang till late... it was a serene experience for all of us...
We had a maggie. Eating hot Maggie with hot tea on a mountaintop it's a whole new experience. In the morning we woke up and we went to the Hot water Spring.
The water was coming directly into the pool which was made there. Separate arrangements for women and Men were available. My friend and I were the only females there so it was a kind of private jacuzzi for us.. The water contained white particle which was naturally coming I don't know from where.... And That's why it's called Kheer Ganga.. Particle looked like a particle of rice within Kheer, an Indian recipe made from milk... Even with Minus degree outside we were swimming in a hot water pool and we didn't feel any cold until we came outside...
Wow, I don't have words to describe the feeling. We are prepared to decent now. The snow was melting at some places and it was difficult to cross the path at some places.. we slipped at some and injured out but.. which was already freezing and now it was numb but it was worth it.
There was a temple of Lord Shiva. And Mythology for the first time in my life seems real. There was that temple of Lord Shiva and from the top of that mountain was running Ganga...So surreal.
We came back to our place at Chalal in the evening. I didn't realize day 3 was over..
Next day we were planning to go to Tosh and we were going to stay in a cafe. My friend heard or read about it somewhere that we had to stay in Pinki didi's cafe... we took a cab till tosh and we reached there around 5pm... we got a room at our decided cafe.. the cafe was amazing.. it was made from wood and it had European architecture. They made sitting arrangements on the floor and in the center, we had a table made from tires... it was devised by separate compartments you if you are in a group even then you can enjoy your privacy.. The cafe was on a height and it had a beautiful view. It was all covered with fresh snow... There we millions of apple trees outside and of course it was all dried but the snow on the branches gave it such a Christmas feeling...I was in awe that I was starting my new year at such a beautiful place.
We played card games and enjoyed our meal there.. There was a guy the owner who was an artist and he had painted various painting which was hanging in the cafe. Another guy had a guitar and he was playing guitar.. This is the way to leave I thought. They owned the cafe and they were living here and doing things they were passionate about. They had no aspirations to do anything else and why would they. It was heaven what they were doing. Hosting guests earning money while doing things they love.
I would give anything to trade places with him.
In all this thinking day was over and we went to sleep. The next day we were going back to the same mediocre life and I would we wondering about what is next and what places I would explore next. Because the search never gets over and the more you travel more you want to do it. And that is what I am going to do...
My next destination I am coming there soon.....
